Accountability takes a look into toxic university culture within Canada, which has normalized rape culture and neglected survivors.
The documentary uses the events that transpired at Western University’s 2021 O-Week, where more than 30 women were allegedly sexually assaulted and drugged, as a case study to show a glimpse into this national crisis. The story is told through the eyes of two survivors, Liv and Paula, who have experienced sexual assault on campus and how they’ve been impacted as a result.
Viewer discretion is strongly advised. This topic goes into detail about sexual assault, and some viewers may find this triggering or uncomfortable.
Produced Fall 2021 as part of the Television Documentary course.
